McVities, a leading Biscuits in Nigeria is partnering with Pladis a Yildiz Holding company, which happens to be the largest food company in Central Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa to form a business worth $5.2 billion.
Speaking during the launch, Yildiz Holding Chairman, Murat Ulker said both companies are bringing in the world's best loved brands according to a statement on its website.
"Establishing Pladis is the first step in realizing the long-term strategy of Yildiz Holding. We are bringing together some of the world's best loved brands and combining their 350 years of experience
to form a new family company. We will be a global leader in business and confectionery and bring bites of happiness to every corner of the world"
The company is which is expected to employ about 26,000 people, will operate on a regional basis, with each region responsible for the manufacturing and commercial activities of the full Pladis brand portfolio, the statement says.
